Neural4D-2o is Neural4D's Large Multimodal AIGC model for 3D. Unlike standard one-way generators, it provides an interactive chat interface that lets you generate and iteratively refine 3D assets using natural language and reference images, all within a single, continuous session.
This workflow is especially valuable in manufacturing, where a furniture designer can iterate on a chair's joint structure, surface finish, and proportions across multiple rounds of conversation without restarting from scratch. Equally, game developers, product designers, and XR teams can use the same conversational pipeline to rapidly prototype props, enclosures, or concept models at production fidelity.
From the Neural4D 3D Studio, locate the left sidebar. Under the Studio section, click on N4D-2o. You can also click the prominent N4D-2o banner at the top of the dashboard to jump directly into the interface.
In the N4D-2o interface, focus on the chat input box on the left side. You can initiate your 3D asset in two ways:
| Input Method | How to Use | Example Prompt |
|---|---|---|
| Text Input | Type a descriptive prompt. Be specific about structure, material, and purpose. For manufacturing, precision translates directly into printable geometry. | "A solid oak dining chair with tapered legs and a slatted backrest" |
| Image Input | Click Insert reference image to upload a concept sketch, product photo, or technical drawing. Pair it with a text prompt to guide the generation further. | "Generate a 3D model matching this furniture sketch" |
Click Send to process the request. The generated 3D model will appear in the main viewer on the right. Generation typically takes a few minutes as the engine resolves mesh topology, surface normals, and material assignments simultaneously.
This is the core capability of N4D-2o. If the initial model requires adjustment, do not start over. You can modify the existing model exclusively through text commands in the chat box. Since modifications are currently driven by text, ensure your prompts explicitly state the target area and the desired change.
| Scenario | Example Prompt | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Material Update (Manufacturing) | "Change the tabletop surface from raw wood to lacquered white finish." | PBR material swapped on the specified surface. |
| Geometric Refinement (Manufacturing) | "Add a center support beam underneath the tabletop for structural integrity." | New geometry extruded and merged into the mesh. |
| Color Adjustment (General) | "Make the primary color dark crimson and keep the visor black." | Target color zones updated independently. |
| Detail Addition (General) | "Add twin ventilation antennas to the top of the helmet." | New sub-objects appended to the mesh. |
Type your modification prompt and click Send. The engine applies the changes directly to the model in the right-side viewer while maintaining the unchanged parts of the structure.
The N4D-2o model retains the memory of your current session to ensure continuous iteration. Each prompt you send builds on the previous state of the model. This is what enables multi-round design refinement without losing prior work.
If you wish to stop modifying the current model and start a completely new, unrelated generation, click the Clear context button located above the input box. This resets the session and prevents previous prompts from influencing your next asset. This is particularly useful when switching between product lines: for example, transitioning from a furniture chair sprint to a lighting fixture concept, or from an industrial enclosure to a character prop for a game project.
Use the tools on the right side of the interface to inspect your model before committing to an export:
| Preview Action | What to Check |
|---|---|
| Rotate & Zoom | Verify topology, joint structure, and material details from all angles using your mouse in the dark canvas. |
| Manufacturing Check | Pay attention to wall thickness and edge geometry to ensure the model is watertight and print-ready without post-processing. |
Once satisfied, click the Download icon in the bottom right corner of the viewer to export in your preferred format:
| Format | Best For |
|---|---|
| .STL | Direct 3D printing. Industry standard for manufacturing and prototyping workflows. |
| .OBJ | Universal mesh exchange: widely supported by CAD tools, Blender, Maya, and game engines. |
| .FBX | Animation-ready format: preferred for Unity and Unreal Engine pipelines with rigging support. |
| .GLB | Real-time rendering and XR previewing: compact binary format optimized for web and headset delivery. |
| .USDZ | Apple ecosystem AR: used for AR Quick Look on iOS and macOS for product visualization. |
| .BLEND | Blender native format: preserves full scene data including materials, modifiers, and hierarchy for continued editing. |
