How to Remix and Modify Community 3D Assets in Neural4D?

Last updated: July 2026 3 min read

Neural4D’s Community library not only provides free models but also allows you to seamlessly remix and modify them directly within the platform. Using built-in AI tools, you can alter textures, optimize topology, or adjust the original generation parameters to create a unique variation that fits your exact workflow.

What Does It Mean to Remix a 3D Asset?

When you find a 3D model in the Neural4D Community, "remixing" allows you to clone the original generation settings (such as the text prompt, image reference, or seed) and tweak them to generate a customized version. This saves time and ensures you start from a proven baseline rather than designing from scratch.

How Can You Remix a Community Model?

You can easily clone and adjust the parameters of any public asset to create a personalized variation.

Action Description
Open the Asset Page Navigate to any public model in the Neural4D Community and click on its thumbnail to view its details.
Click the Recreate Button Locate and click the Recreate button in the asset panel to load its exact parameters into your Studio workspace.
Adjust the Parameters Modify the text prompt, swap the reference image, or change the artistic style to guide the AI in generating your new variation.

How Can You Modify and Optimize the Geometry?

Once you have successfully used the Recreate function to generate a variation of the model into your own Studio workspace, you gain full access to Neural4D's post-processing AI tools. Note that you cannot apply these modifications directly to public Community assets; you must generate your own version first.

Tool Use Case
AI Retopology Use the AI Retopo tool to convert messy, high-poly community models into clean, animation-ready quad meshes.
Decimation Reduce the overall polygon count for mobile games or WebAR by adjusting the built-in decimation sliders.
AI Texturing Strip the original textures and apply new materials by describing your desired surface (e.g., "rusted metal" or "clean ceramic").

What Are the Licensing Rules for Remixed Models?

Since all Community models are available under the CC BY license, any remixed or modified versions you create must still attribute the original author. If you publish your remixed model publicly or use it in a commercial project, you must explicitly state that it is a modified version of the original asset.
